In September 2009, the consumer goods group Uni-lever moved to their new corporate headquarter with workstations for about 1,100 employees in the Hafen-City Hamburg. Besides the receptive office scenery, the new building consists of meeting rooms, an employee restaurant, a culinary studio and a publicly accessible atrium.
The new headquarter is the world's largest building of its kind considering the fact that it is fully equipped with energy-efficient LED lights. Other sustainability aspects, such as a thermal component activation for cooling, a heat recovery system on the roof of the atrium or the extensive use of ecologically optimised building ma-terials, resulted in the golden HafenCity Environmental Label (HCH).
