Auditor as a Consultant
The earlier a certification is pursued, the more cost-effective sustainability requirements will be included in the building`s design. As a part of the pre-certificate or at least a pre-check, the certification goal is determined and then investigated, which investments meet the certification objective. The auditor`s task is to integrate the measures in the implementation process. Most of the time not everything is implemented properly, this is where it depends on the auditor´s experience, in order to create a small reserve, which makes it possible to achieve the intended score at the end of the day.
Additional skills
Sustainability is created not only by individual measures, but also by the dynamic interaction of all building characteristics. The most cost-effective results can be achieved especially when the auditor has a lot of experience and expertise, if he performs calculations on the life cycle costs and is an expert in the field of facility management.
Knowledge in the planning process and building practice makes it easier for the auditor to communicate subject-related with the planning team and to bring up a more professional opinion. Another positive competence of the auditor in scheduling and cost control. In this way, the total costs can be reduced and the goal is still achieved safely and on time.
