Philips Headquarter – Hamburg
The new office building, Philips European Headquarters, consists of two 17 storey office towers having an approximate gross area of 22,000m2.
The scheme design of Architects KSP Engel & Zimmermann provides optimum area and energy efficiencies.
The building's energy concept is as follows:
- Activated concrete slabs provide office ceilings with radiant heating and cooling
- Minimised mechanical ventilation and
- Energy saving chilled water and hot water generation
allowing an economical building operation.
The facade construction allows each user to open his/her window, providing natural ventilation – in the case of fire, smoke can also be vented via the openable windows.
The 60 meter tower is a new landmark in Hamburg's skyline.
