The expressive high-rise pair on the Reeperbahn required special solutions to the climate concept. The architecture is derived by architects Bothe Richter Teherani (BRT) from Hamburg.

The dancing towers mark a city spatial break between downtown and St. Pauli. The property is located at the eastern end of the historic Reeperbahn with the legendary house number " Reeperbahn 1". The high-rise pair should not be seen solely as a gateway to Hamburg's world famous nightlife district, but at the same time as a metaphorical entrance for the districts of St. Pauli and Altona.

Architectural idea behind the competition´s winner is an expressive structure, which embodies the transregional significance of the location. The animated and active shape of the two glass towers are associated with the movements of a dancing couple. The vitality and strength of the site is enhanced by the re-entry of the legendary Mojo Club.

In order to achieve sustainability for the popular building, ifes has advised the client in a holistic perspective. It was necessary to implement a comprehensive energy and climate concept, but not to lose sight of the quality assurance. Goal was the natural ventilation of the rooms, which required extensive thermal and fluid dynamic simulations. The ifes were able to contribute decisively to the specifically demanded energy requirements and to create the conditions for a sustainable and future-oriented building.
