Energy Performance Certificate („EnEV”)

The “EnEV” 2009 as the fourth amendment to the “German Energy-Saving Ordinance”, is currently the foundation for creating an energy certificate. The aim of the regulation is to reduce the primary energy consumption of heated and cooled buildings.

enev-ausweisOn the basis of the “EnEV“, we create energy performance certificates or develop energy concepts

  • for public authorities as an energetic evidence for planning applications
  • in coherence with certifications as an evidence of the energy demand. Promoted by the audit´s energy certificates, which were calculated using the latest version of the “EnEV”
  • for renovations or relets as subsidized evidence. During the renovation we offer, if required, planning and concept proposals for the equipment`s design or the overall energy concept
  • in the course of a single component evidence or simulation , e.g. a thermal bridge simulation according to “DIN 4108”. The thermal bridge is then designed compliant with the “EnEV”

Our calculations and planning proposals conform to the “EnEV 2009” - it has to be considered as the most recent version of the regulation or in parts as a phrasing to the state of the art. Especially planning information for facades and windows according to the “EnEV”. Even assumptions for simulations are based on the ”EnEV”.
When creating the energy performance certificates, the building´s physical envelope is not solely regarded, but we also calculate an energy balance.

Related to LCA and LCC this includes expenses for energy in:

  • heating
  • ventilation
  • air conditioning with cooling and humidification
  • drinking water supply
  • lighting
  • distribution losses
  • hot water supply

The results of the “German Energy Saving Ordinance” (“EnEV”) analysis are also required to specify the ecological balance or to calculate a building`s life cycle cost.
The first “Energy Saving Ordinance” (“EnEV”) was the continuation of the “Heat Insulation Ordinance” (“WSchV”) in 2002. One of the most important innovations of the “EnEV” was the limitation of primary energy demand for heating and hot water. That way, the energy balance and the primary energy efficiency of energy sources and the efficiency of the system technology could have been taken into account as well.
